A hospital trust is to review its care of a patient after she died in a fall from the third floor of a clothes store in Liverpool.

Susan Wood, 57, from Kirkby, was found at the bottom of the escalators in the Church Street Primark last week.

She was a patient of Mersey Care NHS Trust's Stoddart House - an acute mental health unit.

The trust said the findings of its review into her care would be passed to the coroner.

An inquest into Ms Wood's death was opened and adjourned at Liverpool Coroner's Court on Monday.

The trust's director of patient safety, Steve Morgan, said: "Our thoughts and sympathies are with the patient's family at this time.

"We will be conducting an internal review into her care and treatment, and the review will be available to the coroner."

Police said her death was not being treated as suspicious.
