Man stabbed in 'callous' Anfield alley attack
A man has been stabbed in the leg in a "callous" attack on a Liverpool street, police have said.
Officers found the injured 19-year-old in an alleyway off Priory Road in Anfield at 19:00 BST on Monday.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where police said he was in a critical condition.
Det Ch Insp Andy O'Connor said the motive for the stabbing was "unknown", but that the victim had been chased by "teenagers" before he was attacked.
"This was a callous attack upon a young man and I am sure there would have been a number of people in the area at the time," he said.
"I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward so that we can find those responsible."
Officers have been carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the area and CCTV footage has been examined.
