Man shot in arm in Litherland 'targeted attack'

A 19-year-old man was shot in the arm on Merseyside in a "targeted attack", police have said.

Police said he was injured in the Daley Road area of Litherland at about 20:50 GMT on Tuesday. The scene was cordoned off for forensic examination.

A 19-year-old man from Bootle, arrested over the incident, was later released without charge, police said.

The victim was treated in hospital but police said he was not co-operating with the inquiry.

Detectives are examining CCTV footage and are keen to speak with a man in dark clothing, who was seen in the area on a push bike.
