Teenage boy killed in Willaston crash named

A 16-year-old boy killed in a car crash in Wirral has been named by police.

Adam McGunnigle, of Skelmersdale, Lancashire, was in a stolen Renault Megane which crashed into a tree on Hooton Road, Willaston, on Tuesday.

Adam Gouthwaite, 26, was arrested the following day in the Prestatyn area of North Wales.

He has now been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking and other motoring offences.

He appeared before Chester magistrates on Thursday where he was remanded in custody.

He is next due to appear at Chester Crown Court on 21 December.
