Stoneycroft school stabbing of pregnant woman: Woman in court

A woman accused of stabbing a pregnant woman outside a school has appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via video link.

Andrea Dean, 39, of Stoneycroft, Liverpool is charged with attempted murder and attempted child destruction.

The pregnant woman, aged 28, was wounded outside Lister Junior School, Stoneycroft, on 8 November. She has been discharged from hospital. Her baby was unharmed.

Ms Dean has been remanded in custody until her next hearing on 1 February.

A trial is scheduled for 9 April.

Co-defendant Christopher Dean, 39, also of Stoneycroft, also appeared by video link. He is charged with assisting an offender.

He was also remanded in custody until 1 February.

Merseyside Police said the injured woman was not a member of staff at the school.
