Slide guitarist's hospital tour

A professional musician from Cheshire, who has been disabled since 1974, is touring hospitals to teach guitar.

Tom Doughty, from Northwich, was injured in a motorbike accident at the age of 17 that left him with spinal injuries and restricted the use of his hands.

But his love of music drove him to take up the slide guitar.

He is now hoping to inspire others to learn to play, as he tours 12 specialist spinal centres in Britain, starting in Southport where he was first treated.
