Man charged with murder of Emma Burns in Tuebrook

A 34-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman who died after being found in a critical condition at a Liverpool house.

Emma Burns, 31, died in hospital on 2 November, four days after police had found her at a house in Portrush Street, Tuebrook.

A post-mortem examination concluded she died of head injuries.

James Donoghue, of Garsfield Road, Walton, is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates court later.

He had previously been charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm.
