Wirral doctors' rent row patient files retrieved

Patient files which were locked in a Wirral doctors' surgery after a row over rent have been retrieved.

NHS Wirral came to an agreement to access Sandstone Medical Centre in West Kirby after the landlord changed the locks on Monday.

Wayne Roberts said the rent had not been paid in months but GPs said a sharp rent rise he introduced was unfair.

Patients are currently being treated at other surgeries in West Kirby.

Mr Roberts said he had no issue with the patients and it was "simply a landlord - tenant dispute".

The surgery is due to reopen in new premises on Grange Road, West Kirby, on Monday.
