Tate Liverpool exhibits Magritte

England's largest exhibition in 20 years of works by Belgian artist Rene Magritte opens at Tate Liverpool on Friday.

Magritte, who died in 1967, depicted everyday objects such as apples, bowler hats and pipes in unusual settings.

Rene Magritte: The Pleasure Principle looks at the inspiration behind the artists style of work, which has influenced artists including Ed Ruscha and Andy Warhol.
