An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 22-year-old man in Liverpool.

Merseyside Police said the man, from the Anfield area of the city, was arrested on suspicion of wounding.

Police were called to Scarisbrick Road in Clubmoor at about 1540 GMT on Sunday, where they found a man with gun shot wounds to his back.

The man was taken to hospital but his injuries were not thought to be life threatening, police said.
