Drugs seized and 15 arrests in Merseyside Police raids
Fifteen people have been arrested in a series of raids targeting drug and gun crime on Merseyside.
Police said the eleven men and four women were being held on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
Properties in Anfield, Fazakerley, Walton, Haydock, Halewood and Netherton were all searched in the early hours.
A machete, an air rifle, £6,000 and what Merseyside Police described as a "significant" amount of class A drugs were recovered.
Some of those arrested were also being questioned on suspicion of firearms offences, a police spokesman said.
Acting Det Ch Supt Paul Richardson said the arrests followed an "extensive investigation" by detectives.
"Organised crime, drug trafficking and the use of firearms blights our communities and puts ordinary law abiding people at risk," he added.
