Second man bailed over Croxteth shooting

A second man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot in the back in Liverpool has been released on bail.

The victim, 34, was shot in what police said was a targeted attack, in Croxteth on Tuesday night.

He was taken to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his neck and back, but is now said to be stable.

The suspect, 28, from Fazakerley, was bailed earlier, a spokesman for Merseyside Police said.

A second man, 48, arrested on the same charge was released on bail on Wednesday.

Officers have said while they believe it was a targeted attack, the motive is not yet clear.
