Body in house sparks murder probe in Bootle

A murder investigation is under way after the body of a man was found in a house on Merseyside.

Police discovered the victim, in his 30s, at a property in Shelley Street, Bootle at about 1930 BST on Thursday.

He is yet to be formally identified and a post-mortem examination is due to take place later.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody. Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police.
