Festival kites soar above Chester race course
The seventh annual kite festival has been taking place in Chester.
Hundreds of participants have been at the city's racecourse, the Roodee, to take part in the free event organised by the council and the Northern Kite Group.
Highlights included synchronised acrobatics, altitude sprints, fighting kites, and a mass teddy bear parachute display.
Other attractions included a climbing wall and children's rides.
Councillor Richard Short, of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: "Chester's Kite Festival, now in its seventh year, is a fantastic day out for all and proves hugely popular with people of all ages.
"It isn't just about watching the professionals. Visitors bring their own kite, make one on the day or buy one from the experts and fly it in the large public flying arena."
