Merseyside Pc on misconduct charge suspended

A Merseyside police officer has been charged with misconduct in a public office and suspended from duty.

Pc Anthony Davitt, 38, is accused of misconduct in a public office.

Liverpool Magistrates Court said he faced accusations of failing to arrest an occupier and failing to deal appropriately with cash and items.

He will also face an accusation that he gave false information to a fellow officer when he appears at the court on 21 September.
