Memorial service for road crash victims

A service to remember road crash victims is being held at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral later, on the 13th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.

The service, organised by road crash victims' charity RoadPeace North West, will take place on the Rankin steps outside the church from 1400 BST.

Victims' relatives will release doves from the steps after the service.

The event will also be attended by dignitaries and representatives of the emergency services.

Tuesday also marks the anniversary of the first fatal road crash in the UK. Mary Ward was killed in 1896.
