Man arrested after Liverpool 'crash fight'

A brawl involving six men broke out in the middle of a Liverpool street after a crash between their vehicles.

The collision, involving a light-coloured Ford Mondeo and white Ford Transit van, happened on Sefton Street, Dingle, on Friday night.

Three men jumped out of each vehicle and a fight ensued, leaving two from the van needing hospital treatment.

An 18-year-old man, from Garston, has been arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in custody.

One of the injured men was later released from hospital and the condition of the other is not thought to be life-threatening.

Both vehicles were recovered by Merseyside Police and are being examined by forensics experts.

Part of Sefton Street remained closed on Saturday morning for investigations and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
