A man has died after he was hit by a stolen car, which failed to stop, police have said.
The 28-year-old was crossing Fernclough Road in Harpurhey, Manchester, with a friend when he was struck by a black BMW 320 at 20:15 GMT on Friday.
He later died in hospital. The car was found abandoned and is believed to have been stolen from Lancashire.
Two men, aged 18 and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
They remain in custody for questioning, Greater Manchester Police said.
The car, which was found on Clevedon Street, is believed to have been stolen on 22 November and had false plates, which read FN13 WRP.
Police are keen to trace a third man and appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
Sgt Lee Westhead said: "I would urge anyone involved in this devastating incident to do the right thing and contact police immediately."
