Two people have been arrested after a man was left seriously ill when he was shot in the thigh outside a cafe.
Officers were called before 14:50 GMT on Sunday after the attack outside the Silver Spoon in Moss Side, Manchester.
The man, who police believe was the victim of a "targeted attack", was taken to hospital where he remains seriously ill.
Two men, aged 20 and 45, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Ch Insp Mark Kenny, of Greater Manchester Police, said there were extra patrols in the area, adding: "Our enquiries are at an early stage but we do believe this was a targeted attack, and that there is no wider risk to people living in the area."
