Missing boy and mother from Tameside found safe and well

A four-year-old boy and his mother who went missing together have been found safe and well, police have said.

Officers had said they were "extremely concerned" about the child and his mother, 34, from Tameside in Greater Manchester.

The pair were last seen boarding a Blackpool-bound train from Manchester Piccadilly station about 12.30 GMT on Friday.

They were found in Ashton-under-Lyne late on Saturday, police said.

Ch Supt Neil Evans, of Greater Manchester Police, thanked the public for their help in tracking the mother and son.
