Four people have been arrested after a 19-year-old woman took ecstasy and died in Manchester.

The woman was found dead at the City Warehouse ApartHotel on Great Ancoats Street at about 06:30 GMT on Saturday.

Greater Manchester Police said two men, aged 24 and 26, had been held on suspicion of supply and possession of drugs and two women, aged 21 and 24, were arrested for possession.

Officers advised others who have taken the drug to seek medical attention.

Supt Stephen Howard said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have taken ecstasy, to get checked out.

"Anyone with any information about what happened or where this drug may have come from should contact police as soon as possible."

Police said the victim was from the Cumbria area and her family had been informed.
