Paul Croft death: Man charged over 2005 murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a teenager who died after being severely beaten with a baseball bat.

Paul Croft, 19, from Eccles, Salford, died in hospital in 2005 a week after being attacked in an alleyway in Pendlebury, Salford.

Several people were arrested at the time but were later released.

Greater Manchester Police said James Paul Wilde, 28, of Rake Lane, Swinton, is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court later.
