Stephen Archer: Jury discharged in fire murder trial

The trial of a man accused of murdering his sister by setting fire to her has been discharged for legal reasons.

Julie Archer, 49, died three days after Stephen Archer was said to have thrown a petrol bomb in her home in Newton Heath, Manchester on 29 February.

Archer, 50, of Victoria Street, Openshaw, denies murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

The jury was discharged on day three of his trial at Manchester Crown Court. A new hearing is due on 20 March.
