Two men have been charged in connection with the death of an 11-year-old boy in a suspected hit-and-run crash.

Shahzaib Hussain died in hospital on Monday after he was struck by a car in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

Henry Brandon Barker, 19, of Hampton Road, Failsworth, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Aaron Ward, 23, of Hattersley, has been charged with aiding and abetting a person causing death whilst uninsured.

Mr Barker has also been charged with driving without insurance, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident.

A 27-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed pending further inquiries.

A tribute from Shahzaib's sister Javairiya said: "All of our family loves him so much because he was the youngest.

"People who don't even know us came to our house to pray for him."
