A woman trapped between wall and car in Manchester dies

A woman has died after becoming trapped between a vehicle and a wall in Manchester, police have said.

The 56-year-old woman, who has not been identified, was fatally injured on a driveway on Stratton Road, Chorlton, shortly before 21:00 GMT on Friday.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics attended and released her, but she died in hospital as a result of her injuries.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to the incident.

PC Paul Hailwood, from the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "While at this time it is unclear how the woman became trapped between her vehicle and the house wall, at this stage it appears to be a tragic accident.

"Her family are understandably shocked and upset and we are supporting them at this time."
