Murder arrest over Manchester city stabbing death
A man has been stabbed to death in Manchester city centre.
The 26-year-old victim was found at about 03:25 GMT on Charles Street in the city centre outside the RBase club, where a private party was being held.
Police, called by paramedics, found a large group of people at the scene. The victim was taken to hospital where he died.
A 37-year-old man from Manchester has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The victim, also from Manchester, has not yet been named.
Police said one line of inquiry is that the victim had been in the club but it is not known what sparked the trouble, which may have involved more than one attacker.
Ch Supt Rob Potts said: "We will do everything we can to help the family come to terms with what's happened and keep them fully updated with our investigation but we need anyone who has got any information, to contact Greater Manchester Police."
