Greater Manchester police and bank conmen steal £90,000

More than £90,000 has been stolen by conmen posing as police and bank officials in Greater Manchester.

Police have received about 400 reports of people being tricked into handing their bank details over the phone or giving their cards to couriers.

Fraudsters have been operating in the area over the last 18 months and have started working in the Wigan area, which has not been targeted before.

Police details like names and collar numbers can be verified by calling 101.
