Man charged with Salford dog walker rape

A man has been charged with raping a woman while she was out walking her dog in Salford.

The woman, 40, was approached by a man who started to talk to her near New Bank Towers in Blackfriars at about 06:00 BST on Sunday.

As they reached Mount Street, she was dragged into nearby bushes and raped.

Christopher Johnson from Greengate, Salford, is charged with rape, sexual assault and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

The 29-year-old is due to appear at Salford Magistrates Court on Thursday.
