Girl and man held over Salford 'murder plot' shooting

A 17-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder after a man was shot in Greater Manchester.

A 49-year-old man was found by police with gunshot wounds to his torso at the Ashley Brook pub in Liverpool Street, Salford, at about 23:30 BST on Monday.

He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary for treatment and remains in a serious but stable condition.

The pair who were arrested are in police custody for questioning.
