Salford attempted murder shooting: Man arrested

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after shots were fired in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to Coronation Street in Salford after 18:00 BST on Friday where they found a car had been damaged in the shooting.

Officers said they "do not believe this was a random attack" and a search is being carried out at the scene.

The 34-year-old man who was arrested remains in police custody for questioning.

Det Insp Ben Hart said: "We are at the early stages of our enquiries and working hard to piece together what has happened.

"I want to reassure the community that there will be an increased police presence in the area and at this stage, we do not believe this was a random attack."
