Brick thrown from M66 motorway bridge injures passenger

A passenger has been taken to hospital after a coach was hit by a brick thrown from a motorway bridge.

The brick was thrown from a bridge over the M66 in Greater Manchester, near junction 2, at 19:19 GMT, North West Motorway Police said.

It broke a window on a Stagecoach double decker coach, a spokesman added.

The passenger, who police said was "lucky to suffer only minor injuries", was taken to Fairfield Hospital in Bury with facial cuts.
