Man jailed for knocking out Salford ambulance worker

A man who admitted punching an ambulance worker in the face as he was being taken to hospital has been jailed for four months.

Akinwunmi Akinyuwa, 29, of Greengate West, Salford, knocked Qasam Pervez unconscious before fleeing the vehicle in Trinity Way on 22 October.

Akinyuwa admitted common assault at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court last month.

Derek Cartwright from the ambulance trust said it was "unacceptable".
