Manchester beer garden shooting leaves two injured

Two men have been wounded by a gunman who walked up to them in a Manchester beer garden, police said.

The 22-year-old man and the 29-year-old man were shot at 22:45 BST, on Thursday.

They admitted themselves to hospital, after the attack at the Railway Hotel, Berry Brow, Clayton Bridge.

The men are said to be in a serious but stable condition. Greater Manchester Police has closed the road for investigations.

Police said three shots were fired and they have found one bullet.

Det Ch Insp Andy Peach, from North Manchester division, said: "We are working to establish what went on and whether this was a random or targeted attack.

"What we do know is that a man walked into the beer garden and opened fire at the two victims.

"We believe there were three shots and, following a search of the area, a bullet was recovered. "
