Murder charge over Bolton break-in attack

A man has been charged with the murder of an elderly man who suffered a stroke after being assaulted during a break-in at his home.

Frank Worsley, 87, died almost three weeks after the attack at his house in Longfield Road, Daubhill, Bolton, on 3 August.

Daniel Crompton, 24, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder, robbery and burglary.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Bolton later.
