A man has died after being stabbed at a flat in Greater Manchester.

Yuriy Kozak, 46, was found stabbed at the flat on Rodney Street, Salford, at 16:30 GMT on Tuesday by police.

Mr Kozak, who moved to the UK from the Ukraine nine years ago, was taken to hospital, but pronounced dead a short time later.

Two men, aged 46 and 45, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody for questioning.

Mr Kozak's widow, Helen, said: "Yuriy was a loving husband, father and brother to us all. He loved his family and was a real home-body.

"He used to be a music teacher in the Ukraine and taught children music at the Ukrainian Saturday School. He loved children and music was his passion. He played the piano and the guitar from being young.

"Yuriy had a good sense of humour and he was always happy and smiling. He was always joyful and liked to make people happy. He had many friends and was very popular in the community."

Supt Stuart Barton said: "We have made two quick arrests and I want to reassure people that we don't believe there was a wider threat to other people in the community."
