Motorcyclist killed in van crash in Greater Manchester an 'amazing son'

A man who died following a collision between his motorbike and a van in Greater Manchester has been described by his family as an "amazing son".

Police said Stephen Wagstaff, 23, from Prestwich, was taken to hospital with head injuries and later died.

The crash happened on Radcliffe Road, at the junction with Manchester Road, in Bury at 16:00 GMT on Wednesday.

His family said: "Stephen, 'Waggy', was an amazing son, grandson, boyfriend, brother and uncle.

"He was Blackpool FC to the core but loved all sports, life in general and was passionate about being a teacher."

"We will miss him dearly and cannot imagine life without him. We loved him so much."

The driver of the Mercedes Vito van was uninjured, police said. Officers have appealed for witnesses.
