Stolen Audi crashes into Greater Manchester house

A stolen sports car was found on its roof after crashing into a house in Greater Manchester.

A man was confronted in his home in Riddings Road, Timperley, at 01:45 GMT, by three men demanding the keys to his BMW Sport Coupe and Audi A3.

After the group drove them away police followed the Audi and found it on its roof after crashing into a house in Wendover Road, Brooklands.

A woman and four-year-old boy who were in the house were not hurt.

A 30-year-old man was taken to hospital and arrested on suspicion of burglary, driving while disqualified, drink driving and possession of a controlled drug.

The BMW was found abandoned in Warmley Road, Brooklands.

Two other men, aged 24 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Det Insp Myra Ball said: "This was a terrifying experience for the victims [in the house in Timperley], who were woken in the middle of the night and threatened with violence."
