David Short death: Man charged with assisting offender

Police probing the killing of a man found dead after a blast have charged a suspect with assisting an offender.

David Short, 46, was found at a house in Folkestone Road East, Clayton, after an explosion was heard on 10 August.

Mohammed Imran Ali, 32, from Chadderton, Greater Manchester, is charged with assisting an offender.

He is due to appear at Manchester City Magistrates' Court later. Francis Dixon, 37, from Stalybridge, was charged with murder on Tuesday.

Possessing a firearm

He was also charged with attempted murder and causing an explosion.

Dale Cregan, 29, and Anthony Wilkinson, 33, have also been charged with Mr Short's murder.

Anthony Wilkinson, 33, of Beswick, and Jermaine Anton Ward, 24, have both been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Mr Wilkinson is also charged with possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

All have been remanded in custody.
