Ex EastEnders actor Jody Latham denies cannabis charge

Former Shameless and EastEnders actor Jody Latham has denied a charge of producing cannabis.

Mr Latham, 29, is accused of growing 24 plants with a value of about £14,000 at an address in Bacup, Lancashire, in May last year.

He appeared at Burnley Magistrates' Court along with Sarah Melia, 31, of Cotman Close, Bacup, who also denied producing cannabis.

The pair were committed for trial at Burnley Crown Court on 16 November.

Mr Latham played "Lip" Gallagher in Channel 4 drama Shameless and also played Rob Grayson in the BBC soap EastEnders.
