Heald Green street closed after WWII grenade find

An area of Stockport has been cordoned off after the discovery of a World War II grenade.

Police were called to a house in Outwood Road in Heald Green at about 15:45 BST following the discovery of the device.

A police spokesman said a cordon had been put in place while bomb disposal experts dealt with it.

He added that "a number of residents have of their own volition left their houses as inquiries continue".
