Manchester girl injured in 'cowardly' attempted robbery
A 15-year-old girl has been left with blurred vision and whiplash after three men tried to rob her.
The girl was attacked by the men on Mirfield Road in Blackley, Manchester, on Monday afternoon.
She was dragged to the floor and kicked and punched by two of the men while the other searched her for valuables.
Det Con Steve Harris said it was a "cowardly attack on a lone victim who had no chance to defend herself".
The men, who escaped empty-handed, were described as white, with one of them being tall and of stocky build.
Mr Harris said the girl, who was left with severe bruising, blurred vision and whiplash, had been beaten repeatedly around the head and upper body.
He said the attack "took place in the early evening during Halloween and we believe the streets may have been busy with people trick-or-treating".
"We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Mirfield Road area at that time and who may have witnessed the attack or seen the men to contact us.
"We believe the offenders may be local to the area and would encourage people to come forward with any information that may be useful to help us bring these thugs to justice."
