Barry Royle jailed for Birkenhead murder of Peter Caine
A man has been jailed for 29 years for the murder of a 27-year-old man at a house in Merseyside.
Barry Royle, 28, of Market Street, Birkenhead, admitted murdering Peter Caine who died from a stab wound to the chest on 12 May in the town.
He was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court and told he must serve a minimum of 15 years.
Mr Caine was originally from Cumbria, but had been a resident in Merseyside for a number of years.
Det Ch Insp Ian Hassall said: "While today's sentence can't bring Peter back we hope it brings some comfort to those who knew and loved him."
