Man who reported killing held on suspicion of murder

A man who arrived at a police station in Greater Manchester to report a killing has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The man, aged 46, walked into Oldham police station at about 0920 GMT, a police spokesman said.

Officers went to a flat in Middleton Road in the town and discovered the body of a man.

Ch Supt Tim Forber, of Greater Manchester Police, urged anyone with any information to get in touch.

He added: "I understand there will be some concern in the community and there will be extra officers in and around the area if residents what to speak to us."
