Sale alley woman's death inconclusive

Tests have been unable to establish how a woman found unconscious in a Greater Manchester alleyway died.

The 47-year-old was discovered off Hampson Street at 1250 GMT on Friday and taken by ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital, where she later died.

Police said the woman had been drinking in the Legh Arms on Northenden Road.

Facial injuries were consistent with a fall or push, the pathologist said. A post-mortem examination proved inconclusive.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
