Boy charged with Salford care worker murder

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a Salford care worker on New Year's Day.

Adam Steele, 23, from Irlams O' Th' Heights, died from stab wounds after a fight at the junction of Lancaster Road and Orient Road in Salford.

The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, is due to appear in court later.

Three other men, aged 21, 18 and 26, who were arrested during the inquiry were bailed pending further inquiries.

Mr Steele was taken to hospital but died soon afterwards. A post-mortem examination found he died of stab wounds.
