Second arrest in Salford new year murder inquiry

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a care worker in Salford on New Year's Day.

Adam Steele, 23, from Irlam O' Th' Heights, was found by police when they were called to a fight at the junction of Lancaster Road and Orient Road.

He was taken to hospital but died soon afterwards. A post-mortem examination found he died of stab wounds.

Police arrested the man, from Gorton, on suspicion of murder on Friday. A 26-year-old man is on bail.
