Arrest over New Year's Day murder in Salford
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a care worker who was stabbed to death in Salford on New Year's Day.
Adam Steele, 23, from Irlam O'Th' Heights, was found by police called to a fight at the junction of Lancaster Road and Orient Road at about 0530 GMT.
He was taken to hospital but died soon afterwards. A post mortem examination found he died of stab wounds.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
