Murder probe after man fatally stabbed in Salford

A 27-year-old man has been fatally stabbed at a house in Greater Manchester.

The emergency services were called to Wilbraham Road in Walkden, Salford, at 0435 BST. The man had stab wounds to his chest.

He died in the ambulance taking him to Salford Royal Hospital, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.

Det Insp Jane Curran, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "We have made an arrest for this incident and I would like to reassure the public that this does not appear to be a random attack.

"We have a team of detectives investigating this incident, but if anybody has any information, please get in touch."

It is the second murder in Greater Manchester over the weekend. A 37-year-old man was stabbed to death in Gorton on Friday night.
