Hundreds of mourners have attended the funeral of six-year-old Semelia Campbell, who was crushed to death by an electric gate in Manchester.

School friends wore yellow T-shirts and two white horses pulling Semelia's coffin bore yellow head plumes in recognition of her favourite colour.

Semelia was caught between the rolling gate and a brick post at flats off Maine Road, Moss Side, on 28 June.

Her service was held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Fallowfield.

A wreath signed by her parents, sister and brothers read: "You'll always be in our hearts - sadly missed. Rest in paradise our little angel, sweet Semelia.

Mourners spilled out on to Wilbraham Road outside the church during the two hour service, followed by her burial at Manchester's Southern Cemetery.

Two men, aged 38, were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence and have been released on police bail.
