Streatham Hill stabbing: Man charged over attack on mum

A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a woman stabbed in front of her child.
Mark Brazant is accused of repeatedly stabbing a 36-year-old mother in a "stranger attack" on Downton Avenue, Streatham Hill, on Monday.
The 43-year-old, of Windmill Road, Ealing, turned himself in to police on Thursday morning.
He is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court on Friday.
Mr Brazant attended court in a grey tracksuit and spoke only to confirm his name and address.
District Judge Karim Izzat remanded him in custody to appear before the Old Bailey on 31 January.
Metropolitan Police said she was attacked from behind while pushing her child in a pushchair.
The woman was taken to hospital but her injuries are not considered life-threatening or life-changing.
